Solomon Asamoah assigned the responsibility of Chief Investment Officer and Dr. Adesegun Akin-Olugbade elevated to the post of Executive Director

Lagos 12 December, 2008 - The Board of Directors of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), on the recommendation of the Board Nominations and Corporate Governance Committee, approved the elevation of Solomon Asamoah, Deputy CEO and Dr. Adesegun Akin-Olugbade, General Counsel, respectively, to the posts of Chief Investment Officer and Executive Director of the Corporation effective the date of the announcement.
Solomon Asamoah has under his belt, 20 years of experience originating and executing transactions. He had worked as an investment banker in the city of London with HSBC Markets. He was Vice President for Private Sector and International Investments at the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA). Also, he was Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President of the IFC and Managing Director of the World Bank. "As the Chief Investment Officer of the Corporation, Solomon is responsible for driving the investment activities. He will thereby bring in his wealth of experience in investment banking and transactions", says Andrew Alli, CEO of AFC.
Adesegun Akin-Olugbade has over 20 years of experience in banking and diverse aspects of finance law. He had worked at both the professional and management levels for leading law firms, development banking, investment banking and international financial institutions. Akin-Olugbade was the Division Manager, Finance and Administrative Affairs Division of the General Counsel and Legal Services Department of the African Development Bank (AfDB).
He rose to the position of General Counsel and Director at the AfDB in 2000 before joining the AFC in January 2008 as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. He was also the pioneer Chief Legal Officer and Head of the Legal Services Department of the African Export-Import Bank (Afrexim Bank). In addition to his current roles in charge of legal, compliance and the corporate secretariat, Akin-Olugbade will be responsible for Administration and Human Resources in the Corporation.
AFC, an investment bank with a hybrid institutional framework, is a catalyst for the development of infrastructure across Africa. The Corporation was established in May 2007 as an African led financial institution to improve African economies. AFC implements strategies to build business lines in structured finance and investment banking.
