Moody’s Affirms AFC’s A3 Ratings and Stable Outlook, Underscoring Strong Financial Resilience

Lagos, 14 August 2026 – Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), the continent’s leading infrastructure solutions provider, has had its strong investment-grade credit profile reaffirmed, with Moody’s Ratings maintaining the Corporation’s long-term foreign currency issuer and senior unsecured ratings at A3, with a stable outlook.

The ratings underscore AFC’s status as one of Africa’s highest-rated investment-grade institutions. They also reinforce the Corporation’s ability to access global capital markets and mobilise financing for critical infrastructure and industrial projects across the continent.

Moody’s also affirmed AFC’s junior subordinated rating at Baa3, short-term foreign currency issuer rating at P-2 and associated programme ratings.

“The affirmation also reflects AFC's high-quality liquidity buffers, with Availability of Liquid Resources Ratio at 202% in 2025, and its broad access to diverse liquidity sources, including several bond markets in diverse formats but also strong access to the syndicated loan market,” Moody’s stated in its latest report.
